What You Wear Matters

First of all, let me explain what I don't mean.
The brand name doesn't matter, the color doesn't matter, the style doesn't matter, the current trends don't matter, etc.
Because let me tell you, I have a pair of leggings from a very high end athletic apparel outlet. I won a gift certificate last December from
. So I purchased 2 pairs of leggings. They are very nice, but I don't love, love them. They fit differently than what I'm used to. I know there are people who love this brand, but I would have never spent that much money on leggings without a gift certificate.
My favorite leggings are buttery soft, high waisted, and I feel comfortable in them.

There it is! Did you catch it? "I feel comfortable in them."
I love the look of running shorts and a tank I've seen others on social media wear. I have a few shorts, but I don't always feel comfortable in them. They are too short for my liking. So I primarily stick to my biker shorts or leggings.
I feel most comfortable with a top that has a high neck. I have grown to love tops that hit right at the navel. I just prefer the look and style of that for teaching. I want to be mindful that participants can see my body move with proper form. So that's the style I prefer to teach in.
Now, you have to find the style that works for you! Class is never fun if you try a style that works on one body and not on you, you feel yourself constantly picking, pulling, tugging, adjusting, pulling down, etc.
I recently had friend tell someone, "See she always looks so good in what she wears. Just so put together." While I truly don't agree! The struggle is real people to find outfits that work at 40 as a mom of 5 who loves a little modesty, but wants to be feminine, but not look Amish, but not look like I'm trying to be 17, but cover more skin than is trendy.

I think that over the years, that the only reason someone can say that about me, is because I guard my personal style so fiercely and I've taught myself what works. Not what is "in" and trendy, but what works for me.
If I don't find what I need in the store, I leave empty handed. I pause and ask myself, "Will that style I see on this influencer fit me the same?" Even if it's an outfit I think is so cute and it looks fantastic on them. It might not have the same effect for me. If something looks great on a hanger, but not on my body it's a NO for me.
So I would encourage you to find the styles that make you feel the most comfortable. Whether it's work, class, home, or fun. Don't chase what's trendy, unless you feel comfortable in it. Don't wear what I wear if you won't feel comfortable in it. But I did provide the links to my favorites if you do want to try them.
